Yamaichi supports the OTH Amberg-Weiden team at Formula Student Germany

We are delighted to announce that we will be sponsoring the "Running Snail Racing Team" of the East Bavarian Technical University (OTH) Amberg-Weiden in this year's "Formula Student Germany" (FSG). This puts our circular connectors in the fast lane: the Y-Circ P and Y-Circ M series were installed by the students in the racing car they designed themselves.

Grand unveiling of the racing car

It has been a long time coming, but now the Running Snail Racing Team has finally unveiled this year's racing car. The dynamic formula car of the students from eastern Bavaria is stunning in blue and black and will make the hearts of all car enthusiasts beat faster. However, the secret stars of the car are not on visible: Both connectors from the Y-Circ M series and the Y-Circ P series are installed in the sporty racing car. This shows once again that the smallest can make the biggest difference.

A competition for the young talents of tomorrow

The FSG is an international design competition for students that has been organised annually since 2006 by Formula Student Germany e. V. under the patronage of the Verein Deutscher Ingenieure e. V. (Association of German Engineers). In this competition, students independently build a racing car prototype for amateur racing drivers and compete with their vehicle against an international field of participants.

Formula Student challenges the team members not only to apply the knowledge they have gained from their training to the intensive examination of design and production, but also to take into account the economic aspects of the automotive industry.

What makes "Formula Student Germany" special

The fastest team does not automatically win: in addition to the driving characteristics of the car, the overall package of design, performance, financial and sales planning is also assessed in various disciplines by a jury of experts from the motorsport, automotive and supplier industries. The challenge for the teams is to put together a complete package consisting of a well-designed single-seater formula car and a sales plan that best fulfils these predetermined criteria.

We are keeping our fingers crossed for the "Running Snail Racing Team" and are looking forward to seeing both our Y-Circ P and our M12 circular connector in action at the Hockenheimring.
