The match of the Frankfurt HC women's handball team against Thüringer HC II scheduled for 26 March has been cancelled due to numerous corona cases of the visitors. The match will not be rescheduled and will be scored 0:0 goals and 2:0 points for the FHC.
Thanks to a strong final phase, the women of the Frankfurter HC were able to win the postponed match at Rostock HC on 30 March with 28:25 (13:15). Due to absences because of illness, the Frankfurt women had only 13 players at their disposal on Wednesday. Nevertheless, they got off to a good start and took the lead. But in the first half, too many chances were missed and the defence was too passive, which is why coach Dahlmann called a time-out after 17 minutes at 11:7 for Rostock, which then had an effect. However, the game remained even until 22:22 in the 47th minute. The second tactical measure, the special guarding against Martina Corkovic, and a five-goal run to 27:22 (54th) then ensured the decision.
The Frankfurt HC women's handball team won their last main round match on 2 April at Pfeffersport Berlin 26:20 (12:11). At the beginning, the FHC, with a reduced number of players, looked lively and had already built a comfortable four-goal lead after six minutes. After the first 17 minutes (9:5), however, concentration began to wane, which not only cost the Frankfurt players their lead, but also gave the Berliners a brief lead (10:9, 24th). After the break, Lin Lück's goal from the back seemed to improve the situation. But technical mistakes and missed throws enabled the FHC to gain a lead only in the last quarter of an hour (17:16). When goalkeeper Ashley Busse improved, the hosts ran out of energy and the Frankfurt players finally made more consistent use of the opportunities that arose, the game tipped in the expected direction and finally put FHC on the winning track at 21:17 six minutes before the end. Despite all the criticism, some of which was justified, the FHC had to deal with personnel problems and a high level of competition.
Wolfgang Dahlmann (Coach Frankfurter HC):
"We are not in danger of losing here, but the number of technical errors and mistakes is frightening and difficult to explain. These are the simplest things, unforced errors, we play the ball into the opponent's hands without any need or resistance. It's not that we don't practise that. But these are basic techniques. And that's also a common thread: we miss too many free throws from the post position. We have to reward ourselves for the good actions that have led to this positional advantage. We have to pull the lever again in training, in the hope that this will stabilise."
